WASHINGTON, DC, Wednesday, September 25, 2024 – In response to the introduction of the Cannabinoid Safety and Regulation Act, the Hemp Education, Accountability and Reform (HEAR) Coalition issued the following statement:
“The Hemp Education, Accountability and Reform (HEAR) Coalition, representing hemp producers and retailers throughout the supply chain, applauds Senator Wyden and his office for introducing the Cannabinoid Safety and Regulation Act and for their important leadership on this issue. As we work to enact safe and responsible hemp regulations, this legislation will force an overdue conversation on the best way forward that protects children, consumers, and small businesses.
“This bill recognizes the hemp industry’s value and ensures there are common sense regulations in place that align with our coalition’s principles for safe packaging and age restrictions. Even though there are important improvements to be made, we are looking forward to working with Senator Wyden to ensure that we get responsible regulations for our fast-growing industry.”
